The school, which is fully accredited by the American Montessori Society,  was established in 1966. Half day, extended day, and full day programs are available for children 3 months to twelve years of age.  A summer day camp is also offered; this program includes nature study, field trips, and swimming lessons in addition to classroom activities.  The Deerfield Montessori Schools has four location: one in Riverwoods, one on North Avenue in Deerfield, one on Wilmot Road in Deerfield and one in Northfield known as the Glenview Montessori School.  All schools, located in the northern suburbs of Chicago, are within 10 to 15 minutes of each other.
