The school has 3 locations (Deerfield, Riverwoods, and Glenview/Northfield), all in the northern suburbs of Chicago offering half-day, school day, and full day Montessori programs.

Founded in 1966, the first school, Deerfield Montessori School was established as a not-for-profit corporation in response to the needs of the community. It is a private, nonsectarian school which has been nationally accredited by the American Montessori Society. In fact, our schools are among only a select few nationally-accredited Montessori schools in Illinois. The Riverwoods Montessori School was founded in 1986. It was followed by the Glenview Montessori School. These schools together are known as the North Shore Montessori Schools and are professionally managed by the same team. Each school is staffed with Montessori trained teachers certified by the American Montessori Society and/or the Association Montessori Internationale. In securing the services of professional and volunteer personnel, the Board strives to secure the person most qualified for the position.

Directress/Montessori Teacher and Multi-Talented Specialist. Deerfield Montessori School. Deerfield, IL. Instruct 3-6 year old children in activities (academic, spiritual emotional, musical and physical) in a prepared Montessori environment and in accordance with the Montessori philosophy, policies and procedures.  One year of experience as Assistant Teacher for 3-6 year old children in the Montessori method required. Experience must have included assisting with music classes.  Must have American Montessori Society Early Childhood Credential. The North Shore Montessori Schools are all nationally accredited by the American Montessori Society. In addition, the birth to three-year-old classes are also licensed by State of Illinois, Department of Children and Family Services. The schools are also registered with the Illinois State Board of Education and are full member schools of the Association of Illinois Montessori Schools (A.I.M.S.). The schools are represented on the Child Care Coalition of Lake County and also the Illinois Coalition of non-public schools (I.C.N.S.).
